Chapter 77, Section 76: This time they really went to Azkaban! [Second Update]
I stepped out of the restroom.
William had already curled up in bed again.
Perhaps he was sending another "telegram" home? Ian, preoccupied with the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, put on his robes and went to the Ravenclaw common room.
Good morning, Ian!
"It's our Professor Ian! He'll be giving us a lesson again tonight!"
The first-year wizards were much more enthusiastic about him than the night before, and some even called him "Little Professor" with overflowing emotion, which made Ian feel a bit more at ease again.
He remembered the boy who called himself "Little Professor," who seemed very promising, and decided to focus on answering the boy's questions and concerns during his class that evening.
"Look! The boil medicine I mixed while eating breakfast—isn't this intoxicating yellow-green color wonderful? The tuition fee of one silver dollar is absolutely worth it!"
Not all first-year wizards paid for classes last night. One wizard was showing off his creations everywhere, which inadvertently caused Ian's little class to fail.
Ok.
This is a good kid who deserves a lot of love! To be fair, Ian's teaching last night was truly valuable, and the improvement it brought to the young wizards was absolutely obvious.
It's not that Snape's teaching quality wasn't good enough, otherwise Ian wouldn't have gained such a rapid improvement in his Potions Mastery from Snape's notes.
Many students didn't fully grasp the concept yesterday simply because Snape preferred bright students; in class, he would only tell the young wizards what effect each step should achieve.
As for the details...
Students need to figure these things out on their own.
What might seem like an easy task to the gifted Snape could be quite challenging for young wizards just beginning to learn potions.
Compared to Snape.
Ian's account is closer to the actual level of the young wizards. He explains the details of each step in great detail, even specifying the heat and cooking time.
Failure stems from a lack of experience.
Ian, on the other hand, turned his own experience into a textbook for learning, which has a bit of a cramming feel to it.
But it does make it easier for people to cross the threshold.
"If you can grind the snake fangs even finer, the quality will be even better. Use a strand of hair as a comparison; it should be fine if it's even finer than a strand of hair."
Ian gave some pointers to the classmate who didn't even eat breakfast.
His level three mastery of potions far surpasses that of many older wizards. He is, of course, able to find ways to compensate for the shortcomings of younger wizards by considering their specific circumstances.
This is a combination of elite education and assembly-line education.
"Okay, okay, I'll try again."
The young wizard received guidance.
I left the lounge full of anticipation.
"Can anyone tell me what's going on with the Defense Against the Dark Arts class?" Ian started asking around in the lounge, and sure enough, the situation was as strange as Michael had said.
Ronnie Ehrlich has really disappeared.
Dumbledore and the professors searched the entire Hogwarts but couldn't find him.
The last person to see Professor Ronnie Ehrlich last night was Snape, and rumors have already begun to spread in Gryffindor that Snape killed the new teacher out of jealousy of Professor Ronnie Ehrlich.
Everyone knew that Snape had always wanted to become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and this rumor spread quickly throughout the school, but few of the clever Ravenclaws believed it.
"Who would kill for a job?"
Even if Snape was truly jealous of Professor Ronnie Ehrlich, killing him wouldn't be the best option. Dumbledore and the other professors aren't blind or stupid.
"Perhaps this teacher ran away on his own. After all, there has always been a rather sinister legend surrounding the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts."
The curse of Defense Against the Dark Arts was something that even the older wizards had heard of.
They are not unaware that a professor is lost every year.
Ian didn't quite believe the excuse that he ran away out of fear, after all, as a saint of old Grindelwald, Ronnie Ehrlich had probably come for his young master, Aurora.
Not to mention that the saints couldn't possibly be unaware of the curse in this course, their loyalty to old Grindelwald alone would absolutely not make them fear the possibility of sacrifice.
William's grandfather, who was not yet a saint, had already shown loyalty that could not be erased by time; how much more so those wizards who had felt faith in Grindelwald's presence.
"Aurora might know some secrets, but... matters concerning the saints are complicated, the waters might run deep." Ian suppressed his gossipy thoughts.
He had only met Professor Ronnie Ehrlich twice and was not familiar with him at all. Whatever happened to Professor Ehrlich was none of his business.
It's just that this year's Defense Against the Dark Arts class is missing a professor. Even if Dumbledore can't find a new professor, Grindelwald will probably send someone over.
"Or maybe he ran off to find the Chamber of Secrets and got eaten by my precious basilisk." With the morning Defense Against the Dark Arts class canceled, Ian chose to spend the morning in the library. He brought Mrs. Pince some delicious gummies.
The smiling librarian did not urge him to return the books he had borrowed the night before.

Standard Spells, Level 3
After yesterday's Peeves incident, Ian realized that he needed some time to reflect, and that blindly pursuing powerful magic was not suitable for all possible situations.
Although "Unveiling the Secrets of Cutting-Edge Black Magic" granted him the means, it didn't mean he didn't need to make up for his shortcomings in the basics. He still needed to learn the curriculum for all seven grades of school.
A truly powerful wizard.
It must be an all-rounder with no weaknesses in any aspect.
"Dumbledore is a benchmark."
Ian immersed himself in reading and learning, comprehending the knowledge in the books. His talent allowed him to master the knowledge, and his personal panel faithfully recorded his gains.
One certificate is valid forever.
The prerequisite is that you need to prove it first.
The acquisition of proficiency and the understanding of knowledge are always in a synchronous state.
"Disarming Spell -·"
Just as Ian was about to look for a more detailed explanation of the spell on the bookshelf, Ravenclaw prefect Penelope Crivart rushed in through the library's main entrance.
"Libraries need quiet!"
Mrs. Pince glared angrily at the somewhat impetuous Penelope.
however.
Penelope, however, ran straight to Ian.
"Ian, Headmaster Dumbledore wants me to take you there."
Penelope's pale face seemed to show a sense of lingering shock.
"Huh? Why did you call me?"
Ian was very puzzled.
Did Mischievous Ghost really go and complain?
"Professor Ronnie Ehrlich is dead! I saw the body!"
Penelope grabbed Ian and ran towards the library exit. She was incredibly strong, and as she ran, she whispered to Ian through gritted teeth, her voice filled with resentment.
"The new professor was brutally murdered, and the person who found the body was a Slytherin student. That guy is a real scoundrel; he insists he saw you do it!"
