Chapter 1387 - 1386:
"My name is Lucy. I’m a high school student from the United States. A week ago, I went on a trip to Eastern Europe with my classmates and was kidnapped. I passed out, and when I woke up, I was already on a ship... Please, save me. I want to go home. I want to see my parents. They must be so worried..."The young white girl briefly explained her experience to Lin Fan.
A week ago in the United States, at an international airport, high school students Lucy and her friend Emily were preparing to travel to Eastern Europe. It was a destination they had long coveted, known for its beautiful scenery, unique architecture, and fresh air. Taking advantage of the rare vacation, they planned to relax there.
Although their families were quite worried and initially hesitant about their trip, the girls’ persistence eventually won them over. After all, they would look after each other, and they promised not to do anything dangerous or go to chaotic places.
Their families underestimated the situation, never imagining that on the day they landed, they would get into trouble.
The two vibrant young ladies arrived in an Eastern European country, feeling the exotic breeze, and even the air seemed sweet. Both couldn’t help but stomp their feet in excitement, exchanged glances, and broke into bright smiles, immensely looking forward to the upcoming journey.
"So... I’ve heard there’s a very famous bar nearby. Should we check it out?" Emily asked expectantly, looking at her friend.
Lucy said, "How do you know that?"
Emily replied, "I found it online. I did quite a bit of research. I heard this bar has big pastries, very delicious, and a lot of young, handsome Eastern European guys, also very delicious..."
The two couldn’t help but laugh suggestively. American girls are quite open-minded. Besides appreciating the sights and savoring the food, a romantic encounter is essential to a trip. Without a beautiful encounter, a journey seems a little dull.
However, Lucy offered a different suggestion: "We better not go. We promised our families we wouldn’t go to such places. Plus, we just got off the plane, and I’m a bit tired. I just want to go to the hotel, take a shower, and get some beauty sleep."
Compared to the somewhat wild Emily, Lucy is more of a goody-two-shoes. Emily is a typical American girl—naive and fearless, with a bold and open personality.
"Come on, let’s just go and sit for a while." Emily took Lucy’s hand and began to plead. She was truly unable to resist the allure of the bar, and the allure of the Eastern European guys was too great.
Lucy said, "We promised our families we wouldn’t go to such chaotic places."
Emily said, "It won’t be chaotic, I promise. It has great reviews online. If you don’t believe me, I’ll show you the reviews."
As she spoke, Emily took out her phone.
Lucy said, "No need to check. Even if we want to go, we should first go to the hotel and drop off our luggage. Are we really going to drag around two big suitcases?"
Emily laughed, "Okay, then let’s go to the hotel first. But you have to promise me, once we drop off our stuff, we’ll go to that bar."
Lucy had no choice but to temporarily agree.
So, they took a cab to their hotel.
Both came from middle-class American families, and they were staying in a luxurious five-star hotel, where their room was very opulent.
The two went to the front desk to check-in.
Lucy, not feeling well after the flight, already felt dizzy upon arrival at the hotel. She took her room key and told Emily she would go up first while Emily handled the check-in.
Emily said, "Honey, you go ahead. I’ll join you after finishing the check-in."
Thus, Lucy dragged her suitcase upstairs to her room. She pushed open the door, and the luxurious amenities made her smile. It was so beautiful, she was very satisfied, and she was even more looking forward to the journey ahead. This was certainly going to be a beautiful trip.
Lucy dragged her suitcase into the room and tidied up a bit. Seeing that Emily hadn’t come up yet, Lucy glanced at the large, beautiful bathroom and couldn’t resist going for a shower first.
She thought Emily should arrive while she was bathing, since check-in shouldn’t take long.
However, after having a lovely shower and coming out of the bathroom, Emily was still not there.
Lucy frowned, feeling something was wrong. Emily was taking too long, right? Could she have run into some trouble? But they were in a five-star hotel, what trouble could there be?
Lucy quickly grabbed her phone, intending to call Emily, but the call didn’t go through—no one answered.
Lucy’s expression changed, starting to worry. Why wasn’t she answering the call? That friend really was a hassle sometimes.
Lucy hurriedly started getting dressed to go down and check it out.
Emily was her best friend since childhood, like a sister. Lucy was always the type to be quiet and well-behaved, while Emily was a typical blonde—pretty-faced, with a hot body, but a bit brainless. She was quite worried that Emily might cause trouble.
Just as Lucy was about to dress, she heard a knock on the door.
In a foreign country, Lucy was instantly on her guard. She approached the door and peeked through the peephole. Seeing Emily standing outside, she breathed a sigh of relief and quickly opened the door.
"What were you doing? Why did it take so long, and why didn’t you answer the phone?" Lucy complained.
Emily laughed, "You wouldn’t believe what just happened. In the lobby, there was an incredibly handsome guy. We chatted for a bit. You know, he’s a local, and also a tour guide. We’re so lucky to have met such a perfect guide. We should hire him as our guide; he knows many fun local spots."
Lucy frowned, "Really, I think we shouldn’t trust strangers so easily."
Emily said, "He’s not a stranger. His name is Pete. Pete, come here!"
She waved, and then a young man appeared from the side. With a typical Eastern European appearance—high nose, deep eyes—indeed very handsome, he had a harmless smile on his face.
"Hi!" the young man greeted Lucy with a wave.
Suddenly faced with a stranger, Lucy was caught off guard, feeling somewhat awkward. She was still wearing her raincoat and instinctively retreated into the room.
"Did you know?" Emily said excitedly, "Pete also knows the bar I told you about. He says he can take us there. He’s friends with the staff and can get us a 40% discount. Why don’t we go now?"
Pete said, "It’s true, and there are delicious pastries too. With my connections, we can have them for free."
"Please?" Emily looked at Lucy with expectant eyes.
Lucy felt a bit troubled. She didn’t want to go, but she didn’t want Emily to be upset either. After all, they were on a trip, and it would be pointless if they weren’t happy.
"So I made a decision I would regret."
In the alley, Lucy looked up and spoke to Lin Fan.
