The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, Yi Qingwu woke up.
To be precise, he was pulled out of bed by someone.
"Ye Feng! Let go—I can get up by myself!"
Yi Qingwu struggled as she dressed, her face flushed, whether from anger or embarrassment, it was hard to tell.
Ye Feng leaned against the headboard, propping his head up with one hand, watching her frantically put on her clothes, unable to suppress the smile on his lips.
"What's the rush? Your master isn't going to run away."
"Shut up."
Yi Qingwu glared at him and quickened her pace.
Today she was dressed very neatly in a moon-white long dress, with the neckline pulled up tightly, the belt tied tightly, and her long hair neatly tied back with a white jade hairpin.
From head to toe, she was spotless, pure and aloof like the moon, exactly what the holy maiden of the Moon Palace should look like.
She was a completely different person from last night.
Ye Feng looked at her changes and couldn't help but click his tongue.
Yi Qingwu ignored him, finished tidying up, walked to the door, and glanced back at him.
"Come on up with me later, but don't get spotted."
"rest assured."
Ye Feng responded lazily.
Yi Qingwu took a deep breath, pushed open the door, and went out.
The Moon Palace was shrouded in a thin layer of mist in the early morning. Dewdrops clung to the leaves of the laurel tree, shimmering in the morning light.
Yi Qingwu walked through the laurel grove, across the white jade passageway, and arrived at her master's side hall.
The palace gate was ajar.
She raised her hand and knocked on the door.
"Master, your disciple Qingwu requests an audience."
"Come in."
Nangong Nayue's languid voice came from inside.
Yi Qingwu pushed open the door and entered.
Nangong Nayue got up early today and was already dressed. She was sitting on the couch by the window, holding a cup of hot tea in her hand.
She wore a light purple long dress, her long hair was tied up with a jade hairpin, and a few strands of hair fell beside her ears, making her neck look even longer and whiter.
Seeing Yi Qingwu enter, she put down her teacup and smiled slightly.
The smile was gentle and composed, carrying the affection and doting of an elder for a younger person.
"Is everything ready?"
"Yes, Master." Yi Qingwu bowed slightly. "This disciple has come to bid farewell to Master."
Nangong Nayue nodded, stood up, walked to Yi Qingwu, and reached out to tidy up a stray strand of hair at her temple.
The movements were very light and gentle.
"Go ahead." Her voice was neither too loud nor too soft, carrying a reassuring gentleness. "You've already reached the Four Perfections stage. Going out for ten days to relax will be good for your mind and body. A year of seclusion has been tough enough; go out and unwind."
"Yes, Master."
Yi Qingwu smiled and nodded, but she felt very uneasy inside.
She didn't go out to relax at all.
She went out to undergo tribulation.
She also had to bring along a man who couldn't be seen in public.
Be careful on the road.
Nangong Nayue added another word of advice, her tone casual but revealing her concern.
"The north is bitterly cold. Although your cultivation level is not low, you should not be careless."
"This disciple has remembered."
Yi Qingwu bowed again and then slowly withdrew from the side hall.
The palace doors closed behind her.
She stood at the doorway, let out a long sigh of relief, and then strode quickly out of the Guanghan Palace.
Passing through the white jade passageway, through the laurel grove, through the square, and through the enormous white jade gate, Yi Qingwu finally emerged from the Guanghan Palace.
Behind them, the silver palace built on the crater shimmered faintly in the morning light, like a full moon fallen atop the snow-capped mountain.
Yi Qingwu did not turn around. Her figure soared into the air, transforming into a cold, clear stream of light, and flew north.
After flying about a hundred miles, she landed on a snow-capped peak.
At the summit of the snow-capped peak, a man in white stood there, his long hair casually tied back, a roguish smile playing on his lips.
It was Ye Feng.
"How long have you been waiting?" Yi Qingwu landed beside him, her tone indifferent, but there was a hint of softness in her eyes.
"Just arrived." Ye Feng put his arm around her waist. "Your master didn't suspect anything, did he?"
"no."
Yi Qingwu dodged his hand by turning to the side and gave him a coquettish glare.
"Behave yourself when you're out here."
Ye Feng smiled, didn't press the matter further, and withdrew his hand.
"Where are we going to undergo our tribulation next?" Yi Qingwu asked directly.
She came out to undergo her tribulation.
With her four perfect abilities, she is capable of challenging the Dragon Transformation Realm.
But heavenly tribulations are no joke; a suitable place must be found.
"The fewer people, the better," Ye Feng thought for a moment. "Besides, we need to finish this quickly; I don't want to be watched by a crowd."
"In that case, let's head north, to the desolate snowfields of the north." Yi Qingwu immediately thought of a place.
In the northern region of Ziwei Star, there is a boundless, desolate snowfield, stretching for tens of thousands of miles with no human habitation, only white snow and continuous ice mountains.
That is an excellent place to undergo tribulation.
"Okay." Ye Feng agreed without hesitation.
Yi Qingwu nodded, then took off first and flew north.
Now that she has achieved perfect mastery of all four elements, she travels at an incredibly fast pace, her figure tracing a cool, clear arc across the sky, as swift as a shooting star.
Ye Feng followed closely behind, the golden light and the silvery moonlight traveling side by side, leaving two dazzling trails in the sky.
One after the other, one in gold and one in white, the two flew over snow-capped mountains, over tundra, and over one desolate land after another, uninhabited by humans.
The earth receded rapidly beneath my feet.
The green gradually disappeared, replaced by gray-white frozen soil and jagged rocks.
Further north lies a continuous range of snow-capped mountains, with overlapping peaks and a silver-white landscape.
The cold air condensed into fine ice crystals, which shimmered in the sunlight.
After flying for a whole day, the two finally stopped as dusk approached.
It was an incredibly desolate, snow-covered mountain range.
The mountains stretch endlessly, their peaks clustered together, each covered in thick snow and ice, gleaming with a faint blue light in the twilight.
Within a radius of several thousand miles, there were no cities, no cultivators, and no trace of any power.
There was only snow, only mountains, only biting winds and snowflakes falling from the sky.
"This will do." Yi Qingwu landed on the highest snow-capped peak, looked around, and said, "There aren't any powerful forces within thousands of miles around."
After she finished speaking, she turned to look at Ye Feng, a hint of worry flashing in her clear, cold eyes.
"Is it okay?"
"Don't say no to men." Ye Feng's lips curled into a smile that was so confident it was almost punchable. "The tribulations of the Four Extremes and the Dragon Transformation are nothing to me."
He spoke casually, but he was on high alert.
He is the Ancient Sacred Body.
When breaking through the Four Extremes Secret Realm, one should naturally undergo a Heavenly Tribulation, and the Heavenly Tribulation of the Ancient Sacred Body is notoriously terrifying.
However, due to the suppression of the Goddess Furnace, he was delayed.
Later, he and Yi Qingwu secluded themselves in the Jade Bee Pool for a year, cultivating day and night, and finally broke through to the Dragon Transformation Realm, and then rushed all the way to the fourth transformation of the Dragon Transformation Realm.
The tribulations of two major realms, the tribulations of the Four Extremes and the tribulations of the Dragon Transformation, were all superimposed on each other.
The combined effects of heavenly tribulations are not as simple as one plus one equals two; rather, they increase exponentially.
