Selling oil across Libya

Chapter 21 If you can't beat them, join them

Chapter 21 If you can't beat them, join them

Although the Numidian Brigade has taken control of Tripoli, it remains, in Libya's eyes, a purely militia force.

After the Transitional Council took control of Tripoli, the United Nations transferred Libya's seat in the UN to the Transitional Council, formally recognizing the Transitional Council's status.

The Numidian Brigade has captured Tripoli, but this outcome cannot be changed.

In Ding Jian's view, there is no difference between the Numidian Brigade and countless other civilian organizations such as the "Lion Brigade," "Libyan Dawn," and "National Congress."

It seems different now.

Although the Numidian Brigade is also equipped with the rebels' signature pickup truck heavy machine guns, night vision devices are rarely used, not only by Libyan civilian organizations but also by former government forces and the Transitional Council supported by the coalition.

On the football field next to the parking lot, a dozen soldiers are playing football.

A dozen soldiers wearing sunglasses were sunbathing on deck chairs by the swimming pool.

Two female soldiers, carrying M4 assault rifles, emerged from the soldiers' club, eliciting whistles from the swimming pool and football field.

The two female soldiers each returned a middle finger.

Female soldiers are absolutely impossible to find in other Libyan civilian organizations.

Qin Rui went to the general office and spoke to Yuri, then came out and told Wang Hai and Ding Jian to start work immediately.

The boss is busy and doesn't have time to see them.

Ding Jian arranged for the workers to go to the construction site, while Wang Hai followed Qin Rui to the reception room.

"There are only 825 people who are confirmed to come."

Wang Hai was slightly uneasy. He had signed nearly three thousand contracts with the headhunting company he hired, and had spent nearly three million yuan on signing fees alone. However, less than a third of them were confirmed to be coming.

Qin Rui was already very satisfied.

Of Elsa's group of 101, only Dalia remained, less than one percent.

Qin Rui originally estimated that it would be good if 10% came.

A third of it is already enough to make Qin Rui happy.

Although there are fewer people, these 800-plus people are either recent college graduates or experienced manufacturing workers, and they can be put to use as soon as they arrive.

The key is that these people kept their promises and didn't run away with the money, which made Qin Rui willing to pay them even though he offered them high salaries.

As for those who took the money but violated the agreement by refusing to come to Libya to work...

They must compensate Numibia for its losses double, as stipulated in the agreement.

Otherwise, you'll be facing a lawsuit.

"Continue to increase efforts, the more the better."

Qin Rui wasn't afraid to spend money, and this number of people was far from enough for his plan.

Not only do oil fields need people, but refineries and ports also need people, and oil pipelines also need manpower for maintenance.

Chris believes that at least 5,000 people are needed to get the oil field back into production.

This is another piece of good news.

Qin Rui originally estimated that at least 30,000 people would be needed to produce oil.

As for why 30,000 became 5,000?

The answer is that Libya has its own unique national circumstances.

Of course, there was also bad news.

As the Numidian Brigade approached Misrata, Yuri received a warning from the coalition command.

In Sirte, the fighting between government forces and rebels has reached a fever pitch.

The coalition command warned the Numidian Brigade that if it launched an attack on Misrata, it would be subject to coalition air strikes.

Although the United Nations imposed the strictest arms embargo on Libya at the outset of Operation Odyssey Dawn.

However, the UN arms embargo only targets the Libyan government forces, and the rebels can easily obtain various weapons and equipment, including heavy weapons.

The rebels besieging Sirte relied entirely on Misrata for supplies.

If the Numidian Brigade captures Misrata, the coalition's efforts over the past few months may be in vain.

"Tiger, at least for now, we don't have the strength to confront NATO."

Musa is pragmatic; if you can't beat someone, you can't beat them.

Besides France and the United States, several NATO countries, as well as Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries, have sent troops or warplanes to Libya to directly participate in the war.

Countries that sympathize with Libya, such as neighboring Algeria, have only accepted the colonel's wife and son into exile, but have not dared to provide Libya with any form of assistance.

Neighboring countries such as Chad and Sudan have not declared war on Libya in the name of their nations.

However, armed personnel from Chad and Sudan joined so-called "civil armed groups" such as the Zintan Brigade in their individual capacities and directly participated in combat.

The Zintan Brigade is Haftar's elite force, responsible for the defense of Misrata.

Although the Zintan Brigade was a militia, it was equipped with tanks and armored vehicles captured from the government forces, as well as heavy equipment such as rocket launchers and helicopters.

Numidian Brigade, not to mention NATO.

As long as the Zintan Brigade holds Misrata and doesn't come out, the Numidian Brigade, lacking heavy weapons, might not even be able to defeat the Zintan Brigade.

"In that case, let's inform the Transitional Council that we can also participate in the siege of Sirte."

Yuri's bottom line is flexible: if he can't beat someone, he'll join them.

"Yuri, while it is dangerous to be an enemy of the United States, it is deadly to be an ally of the United States."

Qin Rui quoted Kissinger to warn Yuri not to try to negotiate with a tiger.

"Tiger, this is our pledge of allegiance."

Yuri is not morally fastidious.

Although the joint command insists that the coalition's mission is to create conditions for partner countries to lead military operations and that the operations will not go beyond the objective of protecting civilians.

However, there is a lot to be done in the so-called "creating conditions".

If the Numidian Brigade does not take proactive measures, it may follow in the footsteps of the colonel.

No or will.

It's certain.

If you can't beat them, joining them isn't necessarily a bad idea.

Once Operation Odyssey Dawn concludes and the coalition withdraws from Libya, Qin Rui can then play along with the Transitional Council at his own pace.

It is no longer a transitional committee.

On the 8th, the Transitional Council held its first plenary session in Benghazi. Mohammed Majariaf, leader of the Libyan National Front Party and former Libyan ambassador to India and head of the audit committee of the Income Court, won with 113 votes from five candidates and was elected as the interim president.

Like Haftar, Magariaf also spent a long period in exile.

The Numidian Brigade's statement was warmly welcomed by former Transitional Council head and interim government vice president Jalil and Magariaf.

Jalil and Magariaf welcomed the Numidian Brigade's entry for a simple reason.

When the Libyan civil war first broke out, the commander-in-chief of the opposition armed forces was not Haftar, but Abdul Younis, the former Minister of the Interior and commander of the "Thunder" commando brigade.

Two months ago, Younis was shot and killed while being questioned in Benghazi.

Haftar then succeeded Younis as the supreme commander of the opposition armed forces.

Jalil and Magariaf hope that the Numidian Brigade can counterbalance Haftar and create a more stable power structure.
