Chapter 281 280: Gravity Domain Compression

Tenseigan: Gravity Domain

It was the only ability he had unlocked a few years ago when his Tenseigan had reached the threshold of LV3.

Before reaching LV3, his Tenseigan was nothing more than a pair of glorified, overpowered Byakugan with no ocular technique.

In fact, that was the case even now.

Due to various reasons, including his insufficient physical and mental prowess due to his young age, as well as other reasons unknown to him, most of Tenseigan's powers were sealed.

In the end, he truly ended up creating a special technique using his ocular technique.

And he named it…Gravity Domain Compression.

Tenseigan: Gravity Domain—Compression

The moment Seimei activated his ocular technique, a domain of gravity with a radius of 13 meters manifested around him.

But it didn't stay that way.

As soon as the domain manifested, Seimei willed it to compress.

The domain shrank.

And it kept shrinking until the invisible domain of gravity covered every part of Seimei's body, including the ninjato he held, like a compressed, armor-like barrier.

In simpler words, he compressed his gravity domain to his body. Now, his domain didn't affect anything or anyone else, except for him.

This enabled him to manipulate gravity, either to lighten his weight for incredible speed or to intensify gravity at key moments, increasing the force of his physical blows for maximum damage.

Seimei exhaled and looked at Echo.

His blade, still crackling with arcs of purple lightning bolts, was ready to strike at any moment.

Due to standing more than 20 meters away from Seimei and Reina, Echo couldn't understand what Seimei did.

But he clearly felt the change in Seimei's aura. It somehow became more restrained, yet increasingly suffocating, prompting him to become even more vigilant.

Meanwhile, Reina, standing beside Seimei, raised an eyebrow with a faint smile and exclaimed, "Ohhh!"

Seimei gave her a sidelong glance and said, "We have wasted enough time, I believe. We can't keep fighting like Super Saiyans, can we?"

Reina paused for a moment before saying, "I don't know what you mean by super saiyans. But yeah, we need to finish him off as soon as possible. If he's alone, that's fine. But if he has allies nearby who are equally strong, we may really die this time."

"After all, this guy is a Swift Release user. No matter how fast we run, we can't escape from his pursuit unless we kill him before his backups show up."

Hearing this, Seimei fell into deep thought.

Die? Not really. If we can't win, we can always run away.

With my Flying Thunder God Technique, I can always take you and our supervising instructor (who was still lying down like a dead man and watching his students fight the unknown man with bulging, disbelieving eyes) and bolt.

But those are backup options.

With that, Seimei shut down his random thoughts and said to Reina, "Indeed, you are right."

At this, Reina simply channeled fire-natured chakra through his ninja short sword, causing tongues of azure blue flames to erupt and coil around her sword's blade.

She said, "Let's begin the last round then."

From Seimei's Gravity Domain's activation to Reina's declaration, less than four seconds had passed.

Echo was still watching them warily, not daring to make any reckless move, especially after the strange and dangerous aura Seimei was releasing after activating his ocular jutsu. However, he had no idea exactly what the boy was doing.

All those factors led to this brief yet tense stalemate between the two parties.

But, after all, no stalemate could go on forever. They were bound to break.

And this time, it was Reina who did it.

Reina made a couple of quick single-handed seals with her left hand and concentrated a large amount of fire-natured chakra in her throat.

Fire Release: Fire Dragon Bullet Technique

Reina exhaled a stream of scorching flame, hot enough to distort the air. The stream of fire quickly formed three serpentine fire dragons, each about 15 meters long.

Roar!

The serpentine fire dragon constructs seemed to release a series of deafening roars before charging toward Echo from three different directions.

"Futile tricks," remarked Echo as he backed away and dodged the fire dragons with ease.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Missing their target, the fire dragons hit the ground and exploded with a loud boom, leaving behind large, burning craters.

While Echo was dodging Reina's bombardment, Seimei didn't stand still.

His blade crackled with potent lightning-natured chakra, and his ocean-blue Tenseigan flashed in blue light.

Tenseigan: Gravity Domain Compression—Reverse(3x)

Seimei activated his ocular technique, Gravity Domain's compressed form, which only affected him and the things he was holding, and reduced the effect of gravity on him by three times the force of Earth's usual gravity.

It lightened his body weight, allowing him to move at a speed far faster than usual while exerting the same amount of effort and force.

The moment Echo dodged all the flaming dragon constructs launched by Reina, Seimei instantly accelerated, zipped through the distance in an instant, and appeared right above Echo.

He twisted his torso and shoulders mid-air and brought his blade down, which was still covered in several fine arcs of destructive purple lightning bolts.

Watching Seimei attack like this, several imaginary question marks appeared above Echo's head.

Committing to a powerful slashing attack like this while staying in the air without any foothold makes it incredibly difficult for anyone to dodge or move in a different direction.

This is foolishness. Why would this boy make a move like this, especially against a Swift Release user like me, leaving his body vulnerable to sudden, unpredictable attacks?

Did the heat of the battle fry his brain? What's his goal?

Although several thoughts appeared in Echo's mind, he wasn't foolish enough to let this heaven-sent opportunity go to waste.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Echo covered his metallic claws with a dense amount of wind-natured chakra and used Swift Release's kinetic energy manipulation to strike Seimei, who was above him in the air, as hard as possible.

Wind weakened the lightning. And his super-powered upward strike, brimming with potent kinetic energy, would send Seimei flying, leaving him even more vulnerable to his next, unavoidable attack.

At least, that was what Echo thought would happen.

Unfortunately, reality was harsh.

The moment Seimei's lightning chakra-infused blade and Echo's wind chakra-coated metallic claws were about to meet, Seimei's Tenseigan flashed once more.

Tenseigan: Gravity Domain Compression—Amplification(5x)

Under the force of amplified gravity, the weight of Seimei's body and the lightning chakra-infused ninjato increased fivefold in the blink of an eye, all while retaining the same speed due to a split-second alteration of gravitational force.

As a result…

Clang!

Crackle! Crackle!

Sparks flew, and a loud metallic clang rang in the air as the blade and the claws met.

Sharp wind and violent lightning burst out, trying to overpower each other.

Echo had expected this initial clash of elemental chakra.

But then, something unexpected happened.

Crack!

"What?" Echo exclaimed in shock as the ground beneath his feet was shattered by the sheer force and weight behind Seimei's attack.

He had expected to overpower Seimei with the stored kinetic energy during the clash and send him flying.

Instead, it felt as if the force behind Seimei's attack was amplified severalfold, as if Seimei's and his weapon's weight had increased all of a sudden, drastically increasing the power behind Seimei's swing.

The sheer force behind the attack sent a jolt of pain to the very bones of his right arm, which he used to block Seimei's slashing attack.

Plus, the constant, high-frequency vibration of Seimei's blade was dealing constant internal damage to his arm's muscles despite his wind chakra cushioning a major portion of the attack.

The situation changed almost instantly.
