Chapter 2045 - 2034: A Slap in the Face
Chapter 2045 - 2034: A Slap in the Face
Golden Core Great Dao.The Taoist Cultivator's entire might resides in this Golden Core, which is intertwined with their very life.
Like the Divine Power, the Golden Core also melts the forces of Yin Yang and the Five Elements.
"What a pity!"
Ning Fan glanced at Vivian with resentment. The Golden Core he fought so hard to obtain was destroyed by this Barbaric Dragon's Forbidden Spell.
Thinking of this, Ning Fan truly felt like crying without tears. Many of his plans depended on the Golden Core, especially the most important one - Alchemy.
This was the only method for him to help the women swiftly embark on the path of Cultivation.
Vivian asked in confusion, "Did I say something wrong?"
"You doomed me."
Vivian immediately retorted, baring her teeth, "I doomed you? Clearly, you doomed me."
"How did I doom you? If not for me, you'd have died long ago."
Ning Fan said, speechless, "Please calm down in the future, don't be so single-minded."
"Hmph!"
Vivian proudly turned her head to the side.
Arriving at the Main Hall of the Church of Light, standing on the spacious plaza in front of the hall, Ning Fan could clearly feel the aura of Holy Power.
But those who aren't cultivators cannot perceive this force.
Standing before the majestic hall, they only felt as if a True God was whispering in their ears,
their previously lax demeanor turned austere and solemn, becoming increasingly devout.
This series of psychological changes were all influenced by the Holy Power.
The world will forever remain unaware; the most influential Church of Light only reveals the tip of the iceberg.
Within the Demon Domain lies the Mount of Light, the true foundation of the church.
The entrance to the Mount of Light is hidden right in the center of the plaza.
"There's a Magic Barrier there."
Following the direction of Vivian's finger, Ning Fan saw a round arch resembling a Triumphal Arch.
The surfaces of the two gate piers had large angel-themed reliefs.
"Is it only here?"
Ning Fan always felt that the entrance and exit of the Barrier should be in a secluded and hidden spot, rather than standing ostentatiously here in the unobstructed center of the plaza.
Vivian looked around and then shook her head, indicating the Holy Power was most dense only here.
"It seems we'll have to come at night."
Ning Fan didn't want to perform some grand magic transformation in broad daylight.
As night fell, Ning Fan and Vivian returned to the Main Hall, confident in their speed that they wouldn't be detected.
Standing in the vast plaza, Ning Fan felt mysteriously uneasy.
The plaza was too open, too silent, standing there, not even a slight noise could be heard.
It was as if the worldly clamor was completely isolated, providing the heart a resting sanctuary.
Just then, Vivian slapped Ning Fan's face.
"What's wrong with me?"
Instinctively saying this, Ning Fan then felt a burning pain on his face, couldn't help asking, "You hit me?"
"Yes."
Vivian didn't deny it, seemingly doing something trivial.
Ning Fan was furious, "What's wrong with you, hitting me for no reason?"
"If I hadn't woken you up, you might have already lost your mind and become a puppet under the Holy Power."
"Nonsense. I've already reached Great Perfection in my state of mind, how could I lose myself."
Despite saying this, Ning Fan felt a bit guilty; the memory of those seconds before being hit was indeed a bit blurry.
"Human state of mind? It's a joke."
Vivian looked at Ning Fan disdainfully, "Don't forget. The Holy Power here comes from the God King of Light."
Ning Fan awkwardly said, "Let's not talk about this. What happened just now?"
The true Great Perfection of state of mind is the Supreme Celestial Heart, Ning Fan was only at the initial formation.
"Holy Power has the ability to forcibly transform, even Divine Spirits can be summoned under its baptism. This is why the Holy Power is so bothersome."
"So what?"
"Look at the ground."
Following the directions of his feet, across the vast expanse, Ning Fan's mind gradually formed a contour; initially thinking the ravines on the ground were drainage channels.
But now, listening to Vivian, it seemed there's more to it.
"The crosshatched grooves on the ground, could they be depicting a Magic Formation?"
"Exactly. This is a large Divine Formation."
As if knowing what Ning Fan would ask, Vivian added, "Don't ask me. I'm not very familiar with Holy Power."
Ning Fan hurriedly asked, "Was I influenced by the Magic Formation just now, causing interference with my mind."
"You can say that. The stone and tile of this plaza have been baptized by Holy Power for thousands of years, forming the prototype of a Divine Artifact to some extent."
Vivian pointed at the ground and said, "If there were Divine Spirits cultivating Holy Power here, even a Lower Divine, without activating the Divine Formation, could effortlessly baptize the humans of this world into the Church of Light's believers just by using the Divine Artifact's power."
Ning Fan was completely shocked, "That's terrifying."
"Of course it's terrifying. Although the plaza hasn't become a true Divine Artifact yet, the power it emits is not something your personal consciousness can resist alone."
Vivian shifted her tone, "So you should thank me just now."
Ning Fan gritted his teeth, "Couldn't you use a different method?"
Even now, his molars still hurt significantly.
Not sure whether to thank Vivian for showing mercy or blame her for hitting too hard.
Vivian said expressionlessly, "This method is most effective, besides, I don't know any other way."
"Really?"
Ning Fan looked at Vivian with suspicion, having a feeling she was taking the opportunity for revenge.
"Let's go in."
As she spoke, Vivian walked towards the arch and then disappeared as if sinking into water.
"Wait for me."
After walking a few steps, Ning Fan froze, looking around the familiar plaza, puzzled, "Why am I still here?"
Staring at the plaza, now deserted, Ning Fan cursed internally, "That scoundrel didn't even take me along."
The entrance to the Barrier is definitely not easy to find, otherwise, the truth of the Church of Light would have been known to the world long ago.
Ning Fan used to rely on True Qi and Spiritual Energy to detect the portal to the Barrier.
But now he couldn't do it, holding a sturdy body yet helpless in such a situation.
"What should I do now?"
Ning Fan turned his thoughts, "I wonder if the Light of Life might work?"
With a flicker of intent, spots of dazzling silver light emerged from within Ning Fan.
The silver light spread outward along his pores, appearing on his skin.
From afar, Ning Fan looked as if... well, still the same as before.
The silver light wasn't a real color visible to the naked eye, but a perception on the mental level.
"It should work this time."
Ning Fan took a step forward, immediately feeling a sense of obstruction, as if an invisible membrane in the void blocked his way.
"There's a chance."
Ning Fan increased his force, pushing forward.
It seemed like breaking through some kind of restriction, under inertia, Ning Fan almost stumbled.
"I wonder if it succeeded?"
