Chapter 876: Resonance
Chapter 876: Resonance
After a few knocks, the door to Huang Zeji's room was pushed open from the outside.
"Brother!" The little girl stood at the door of her brother's room.
Huang Ze could guess why his sister had come to see him even with his toes. "Come in!"
"Hey!" The little girl walked into the house with a big smile, carrying several notebooks.
"Brother, help me out, or my bottom will be in for a world of hurt again." The little girl grinned as she discussed with her brother, and it seemed that the siblings had cooperated like this more than once.
Huang Zeji glanced at the doorway and gestured with his lip: "Go close the door."
The little girl threw her homework on the desk and ran to close the door.
When she returned, her brother had already opened a summer homework book.
Huang Zeji saw what happened when he came back in the afternoon, but he was already used to it. So after greeting his mother, he went back to his room to take a shower and change his clothes. This was his family rule: you had to take a shower and change your clothes as soon as you came back from outside. After all, his mother was a clean freak.
"I'll help you copy this one, the rest are yours." Huang Zeji could imitate his sister's handwriting, so whenever his sister was punished by copying homework, she would come to him for help, and this time was no exception.
"Hahaha, I knew my brother was the best!" The little girl threw out free compliments.
Unfortunately, her brother was already immune to this and waved her away, telling her to leave quickly.
Just before the door closed, the little girl poked her head in: "Brother, when school starts, I'll treat you to chocolate, from Belgium!"
Huang Zeji turned his head and glared at the little girl with displeasure. The little girl laughed and quickly closed the door.
Huang Zeji was certain that the Belgian chocolate his sister mentioned must have been brought to her by Ding Xiaojia. His own mother would never buy such chocolate for his sister, not because she couldn't afford it, but because his sister loved sweets too much and his mother was worried about her getting cavities.
The next day, Huang Zeji only left his room briefly for breakfast. He spent the entire morning in his room helping his sister copy her homework. Before lunch, he delivered the copied homework to the little girl's room.
Huo Xinyuan (Liu Jin) had already returned and was in the little girl's room. Huang Zeji greeted her, "Second Sister."
Liu Jin asked Huang Zeji, "Was summer camp fun?"
As Huang Zeji handed the homework to his younger sister, he answered Liu Jin's question, "It's alright!"
Liu Jin didn't press further, because she knew her younger brother was never a talkative person; he just liked to tinker with things he liked, but she wasn't interested in any of them.
But Huang Zeji asked her, "How is Second Uncle?" Because he had been at the summer camp for forty days, Huang Zeji didn't know much about Second Uncle Huo Miao's condition, so he took the initiative to ask, since Second Uncle had always been very good to him.
Upon hearing his younger brother mention their father, Liu Jin immediately perked up: "Yesterday, my mom and I pushed him to the supermarket in an electric wheelchair. My mom said that my dad can now stand up and walk a few steps on his own."
"That's good." Huang Zeji nodded and left his sister's room. He had always been like this, so Liu Jin and the little girl were already used to it.
After Huang Zeji left, the two sisters continued to whisper to each other.
The little girl vividly recounted yesterday's events to her older sister, Liu Jin: "You didn't see how my mom treated me yesterday. If my brother didn't look so much like me, I seriously suspect I was adopted!"
"What did my aunt do to you?" Liu Jin thought his aunt was a really nice person!
The little girl gestured with her hands, saying, "That feather duster is so long! I don't know where she got it from; I've never seen one like it at home."
Then she pulled her pants down a little to show her sister, Liu Jin: "Look, look, the mark is still there! You can imagine how ruthless my mom was!"
Liu Jin looked at it and it really was true, so he touched it with his hand.
Unexpectedly, the little girl jumped up as if she'd been electrocuted: "Ouch, don't touch that! It hurts!"
Liu Jin concluded, "I think that feather duster belongs to my maternal grandparents. My maternal grandparents used to hit my mother with a feather duster. These adults are outrageous! They only know how to hit children and bully others by taking advantage of their power."
Liu Jin's words resonated with the little girl: "That's right, just because they're adults, they treat us kids badly."
Just then, the door was suddenly pushed open from the outside: "Dinner's ready!" It was Yu Xiang calling the two children downstairs for dinner.
Upon hearing that it was her mother, the little girl's indignant expression vanished instantly, replaced by an incredibly obedient demeanor: "Oh! Coming!"
Upon hearing the word "eat," the ugly creature that had been leisurely lounging in the corner immediately ran out and dashed downstairs—it was quite the foodie.
When the two girls arrived at the restaurant downstairs, they saw that Huang Zeji was already sitting in his seat.
The little girl sat down in her seat as if she knew her way around, and casually asked her brother, "Brother, where's Dad?"
Huang Zeji didn't know either, so he shook his head: "I don't know, you can ask your mother later!"
"Never mind, he's rarely home for lunch anyway." The little girl craned her neck to look at the dining table, wondering what they would be having for lunch.
At this moment, Yu Xiang walked over and glanced at her. The little girl immediately sat up straight again, it seemed that the beating she received yesterday had been quite effective.
After lunch, Yu Xiang said to the children, "You all rest for a while at noon. At two o'clock, we'll leave home to visit our great-grandparents and great-aunt."
After saying that, she turned to her son Huang Zeji and said, "Grandma said she hasn't seen you in a long time and misses you. She called your dad this morning to ask if you were back yet."
Huang Ze nodded, indicating that he understood.
In the late afternoon, Huang Xiaochuan arrived at his uncle's house. Yu Xiang had been there with several children that afternoon, and they had agreed to go home together after dinner.
"dad!"
"dad!"
"uncle!"
Several children greeted him, and Huang Xiaochuan responded to them all with a smile before walking over to his grandmother.
"Grandma, why are you so happy today?"
Before Grandma could speak, Auntie said, "Your grandma was so happy to see Xiaodong. The two of them chatted for quite a while this afternoon."
"Really?" Huang Xiaochuan found it a bit strange. He knew his own son best; he was good at everything, except that he was a bit quiet.
Huang Xiaochuan grasped his grandmother's hand and asked her with a smile, "Grandma, what did your great-grandson talk to you about?"
Although my grandmother is now hard of hearing and has poor eyesight, her memory is excellent: "He told me that the current cameras are too low, and he was researching what kind of brain to use to make the photos clearer."
Huang Xiaochuan roughly guessed from his grandmother's words that his son was probably referring to the low resolution of the camera and his desire to write a computer program to make the digital images clearer.
Although Huang Xiaochuan didn't understand this thing, he knew it was not a simple matter, nor could it be done by a child like Huang Zeji. It involved many aspects, but having a goal and ideas was always a good thing.
He then asked his great-grandmother, "Isn't your great-grandson amazing?"
"That's really impressive!" the old lady exclaimed in her Suzhou accent.
After exchanging a few words with his grandmother, Huang Xiaochuan was told that dinner was served, and he helped her to the dining room.
