Chapter 67 The Arrogant Divine Doctor's "Physical Therapy"
Chapter 67 The Arrogant Divine Doctor's "Physical Therapy"
"Nonsense!" Fang Qin trembled with anger. "Search! Focus on the backyard and basement!"
Just as several law enforcement officers were about to force their way in, Guan Shan blocked the entrance.
His 200-plus-pound frame resembled a wall of flesh, and he was carrying a large pair of pruning shears used for trimming medicinal herbs.
"No one can get in without the boss's approval," Guan Shan said in a muffled voice, a fierce glint in his eyes.
"You want to violently resist the law?" Fang Qin shrieked.
"It's not that I'm resisting the law, but I just sprayed a high concentration of pesticide in my backyard to kill pests," Wang Minyu replied casually. "If you guys go in and get poisoned, I'll have to spend money on medicine to treat you, which isn't worth it."
The atmosphere remained deadlocked.
Just then, a piercing scream came from the backyard.
"A ghost—!"
That was a young assistant who had slipped into the backyard during the chaos.
He scrambled out, his pants soaked, and pointed incoherently at the backyard.
"A coffin...an old man flew out of the coffin...he's eating human flesh!"
Fang Qin was stunned.
Wang Minyu chuckled inwardly; Old Wu's acting was indeed spot-on.
"Director Fang, see, I told you it was poisonous, it's causing hallucinations." Wang Minyu shrugged. "How about I prescribe you two doses of medicine to clear your mind and improve your eyesight, free of charge?"
Fang Qin looked at the terrified assistant, then at the calm-looking Wang Minyu.
She was an old hand at this, and quickly calmed down.
"Wang Minyu, don't be so smug. Just because we can't find anything today doesn't mean you're innocent." Fang Qin sneered, then looked at a middle-aged man behind her. "Professor Zhang, you're an authority in traditional Chinese medicine. Come and take a look at these so-called 'miracle drugs' of his."
The middle-aged man who hadn't spoken until now stepped forward.
He is Zhang Cheng, the vice president of the provincial university of traditional Chinese medicine, and also a special advisor to the evaluation team.
Zhang Cheng picked up a bottle of "Qi-boosting tea" from the counter, unscrewed the cap, smelled it, and then poured a drop onto his fingertip.
His expression gradually changed from disdain to seriousness, and finally to horror.
"The purity of this astragalus... and the penetrating power of this mint..." Zhang Cheng stared at Wang Minyu, "Young man, where did you get these medicinal herbs?"
"Self-grown and self-sold, technology and hard work." Wang Minyu casually made up a story.
Zhang Cheng ignored his teasing and turned to Fang Qin, saying, "Director Fang, this medicine... is fine. Not only is it fine, its activity is several times higher than what we extracted in our lab. If this is considered an 'unknown drug,' then all the ones we sell on the market are garbage."
Fang Qin froze on the spot, her briefcase almost falling to the ground.
Professor Zhang Cheng's last-minute defection left Fang Qin in an extremely awkward situation.
"Professor Zhang, are you sure you didn't see it wrong?" Fang Qin asked through gritted teeth in a low voice.
"Director Fang, medicine doesn't lie, and neither does the tongue." Zhang Cheng looked at Wang Minyu with burning eyes. "Dr. Wang, if you don't mind, could I visit your medicinal herb field? I've been cultivating medicinal herbs my whole life, and I've only ever seen this quality of astragalus in ancient records."
"The entrance fee is 10,000, no discounts." Wang Minyu sat back down in his chair, picked up his teacup, and said, "Besides, I'm currently busy dealing with a 'surprise inspection' and don't have time to lead the way."
Zhang Cheng coughed awkwardly twice and looked at Fang Qin.
Fang Qin took a deep breath, adjusted her glasses, and tried to regain her composure: "The medicinal materials are fine, but that doesn't mean your medical license is legitimate. Wang Minyu, while your Physician's License is genuine, your 'strange' treatment methods seriously deviate from medical standards. We need to take your medical records for auditing."
"It's recorded in the computer. The password is 'Director Fang is a great beauty.' Try it yourself," Wang Minyu said earnestly.
Fang Qin was so angry that her chest heaved, and she pointed at Wang Minyu, unable to speak for a long time.
"Alright, Director Fang." Wang Minyu's smile vanished, his voice turning cold. "Stop forcing yourself. Your left-sided migraine is acting up right now, isn't it? Your temples are throbbing, and your vision is blurry. This is liver yang rising; if you keep suppressing it, that blood vessel in your head is really going to burst."
Fang Qin subconsciously held her forehead.
Wang Minyu was absolutely right; from the moment she entered the room, her head felt like it was being pricked with needles.
"Siyuan, bring over two pieces of mutated menthol sorbet," Wang Minyu instructed.
Li Siyuan quickly brought over two shiny, cool mint leaves.
"Put it on your temples." Wang Minyu looked at Fang Qin. "Consider it a gift from me, no money required. Once you're cured, take your people and leave quickly, don't delay my renovations."
Fang Qin wanted to refuse, but the excruciating pain made her accept the mint slices as if possessed.
The moment it was applied, an extreme chill shot up my head.
The feeling wasn't like applying ice; it was more like having a cold scalpel instantly sever the painful nerves.
"call--"
Fang Qin breathed a sigh of relief, and her previously tense expression relaxed.
"This kind of mint..." she looked at Wang Minyu in surprise.
"You wouldn't understand even if I explained." Wang Minyu stood up and walked towards the back room. "Director Fang, I'm a doctor, and you're in charge of doctors. You're after fame, and I'm after money; we'll keep to ourselves. But if you're thinking of using me as a stepping stone to climb the ladder, then you've come to the wrong person."
Fang Qin stood there, holding the two mint slices in her hand, her eyes filled with complex emotions.
"Withdraw," she whispered the order.
"Director, are you just leaving like this?" the assistant asked unwillingly.
"Do you want to stay and eat pesticide?" Fang Qin glared at him, then turned and left.
Professor Zhang Cheng didn't leave. He moved closer to Wang Minyu and lowered his voice, saying, "Dr. Wang, although Fang Qin is old-fashioned, she has deep connections in the province. You saved her from her emergency today, so she won't openly cause you trouble anymore, but people who secretly want to ask you for treatment will probably be lining up."
"I'm fine with queuing, but the registration fee will be doubled." Wang Minyu said nonchalantly.
After the evaluation team left, Renxin Pharmacy returned to its usual bustling state.
Old Zhang led the workers to continue demolishing the wall, Guan Shan was distributing boxed lunches to Old Wu in the backyard, Su Qing was studying the "fake meat Ganoderma lucidum", and Li Siyuan and Zhao Na were tidying up the medicine cabinet that had been ransacked earlier.
This group portrait gave Wang Minyu a strange sense of accomplishment.
"Boss, when Director Fang left just now, he secretly slipped five hundred yuan into our donation box," Zhao Na said as she ran over.
"That's the money she gave herself to save her life," Wang Minyu sneered. "Put it in the books and include it in today's revenue."
Late at night, the renovation noise finally stopped.
Wang Minyu sat alone in the newly expanded consultation room.
After the two stores were combined, the space more than doubled. The system panel lit up again.
[Main Quest: Initial model of "The Eccentric Doctor's Clinic" completed.]
[Reward: System Shop version 3.0 unlocked.]
[New Products: Life Detection Radar (can scan for seriously ill patients within a one-kilometer radius), Automatic Herbal Decoction Machine (increases medicine efficacy by 50%).]
[Current mood score: 24500.]
Wang Minyu looked at the task list and his gaze fell on the next item.
[Advanced Mission: Harvest a special patient who holds a "high position of power" and make them experience a "wonderful" feeling.]
He turned off the panel and looked out the window at the sparse lights of the old street.
"High position and great power?"
The look in Fang Qin's eyes when she left flashed through his mind.
"It seems I don't need to go looking for chives; they'll come to me on their own."
He stretched and shouted to the backyard, "Guanshan, chop up that coffin! Tomorrow we'll have a whole roasted lamb to celebrate the successful expansion!"
"Okay!"
From the backyard came Guan Shan's excited roar and the sound of wood cracking.
Old Wu huddled under the covers, trembling as he watched Guan Shan brandishing his axe.
"Is this clinic... really legitimate?" he muttered to himself.
Meanwhile, in a luxury mansion in the center of Changxiang City, Fang Qin was looking in the mirror, deep in thought, at the red marks left by the two melted mint leaves on her temples.
On the table in front of her was a detailed file about Wang Minyu.
"Wang Minyu... just how many secrets do you still have?"
She picked up her phone and dialed a number.
"Old boss, I think I've found someone who can cure that stubborn insomnia you mentioned last time."
